Without a doubt the footage from this film provided more usable action material than any other I'd worked with to date. Jackson's masterpiece film managed to capture every aspect of war while keeping you hitched to the screen. Because there was simply so much to choose from, I decided to go with a themed approach. In this case, it's the role of the Rohirim (mounted warriors) in winning the battle for Gondor. While it doesn't focus on them the whole time, I use the opening and closing footage to set up and conclude the action of the battlefield. The previous version of this project had footage during the end credits and a much more blatantly dramatic opening sequence which was removed at the urging of my significant other. She was right, too. :)
